I don’t know about you, but I love the taste of mangos!

Mangos

The mango is a unique tropical fruit that many people enjoy. It’s no wonder mangos are one of the most popular fruits in the world and it’s easy to see why. Mangoes not only have a sweet, creamy taste, but contain plenty of healthful benefits for your body, which help it function optimally.

Some nutrients found in mangos include:

  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin B6
  • Vitamin E
  • Potassium
  • Iron
  • Magnesium
  • Copper
  • Phosphorus
  • And more

Mangos have other health benefits too. Like bananas, mangos are rich in fiber, so they help aid in digestion. They are also rich in iron, which is an important mineral for healthy blood and the prevention of iron deficiency. In fact, in my book, Wholey Cow A Simple Guide To Eating And Living, I talk about how you should include plenty of iron-rich foods in your diet, such as mangos, to help build iron and prevent iron deficiency anemia. Mangos have antioxidant properties too, that help prevent cancer, heart disease and more.

Mangoes

Mangos are abundant this time of year, so you should be able to find several varieties in your local grocery store. Each variety has its own unique flavor, texture and color. Although mangos were first grown in India over 5,000 years ago, they are grown today in Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Haiti, Puerto Rico and several other warm countries.

You can enjoy mangos alone, in smoothies, tacos, guacamole, entrees, drinks and more.
