Peaches are a popular fruit that many people enjoy, especially in the fall when they are abundant. Like pears and apples, peaches are convenient to eat and are a sweet treat. They are a juicy fruit with a fuzzy peel and fibrous texture. Peaches are loaded with a variety of antioxidants and nutrients too that help keep your body healthy. Some nutrients found in peaches include vitamin C, vitamin A, potassium, vitamin E and copper. They also contain protein, iron, B vitamins and manganese. Peaches have other health benefits, as well.

Health Benefits of Peaches

Aid In Digestion

Like other types of fruit, peaches are  high in fiber, making them good for digestion. Peaches contain both soluble and insoluble fiber, which is important for good gut health. The insoluble fiber helps provide bulk, which helps remove waste from the body. The soluble fiber helps produce good bacteria in your gut, which helps keep your body healthy and helps maintain a healthy microbiome.

Helps Promote Good Eye Sight

Peaches are rich in antioxidants and high in vitamin C, so they help protect your body in a variety of ways. Specifically, peaches help promote good vision. That’s because they contain lutein and other antioxidants that are good for eye health and help prevent macular degeneration and other eye ailments.

Good For The Skin

Since peaches are high in a variety of antioxidants, they can help fight off free radicals, making them good for the skin. Studies show that peaches have protective effects and may help your skin retain moisture. Make sure you grab a peach or two to help keep your skin smooth and healthy.

May Help Prevent Cancer

Like many fruits and vegetables, peaches have been found to help prevent certain types of cancer. Peaches are rich in antioxidants, as well as carotenoids that have been shown to protect your body from several types of cancer. In particular, peaches may help inhibit a certain type of breast cancer. Studies also show they may be beneficial in the prevention of colon cancer and growth of some other tumors.
